Infrared Sauna

An infrared sauna is a type of sauna that uses light to create heat. This type of sauna is sometimes called a far-infrared sauna — “far” describes where the infrared waves fall on the light spectrum. A traditional sauna uses heat to warm the air, which in turn warms your body. An infrared sauna heats your body directly without warming the air around you.

Is there anything I should do prior to my Infrared Sauna session?

It is always important to maintain proper hydration levels during infrared therapy. Dehydration will actually increase carbohydrate utilization and cause less fat to be burned for energy. We highly recommend drinking a minimum of 4 oz. of water prior to entering the sauna and a minimum of 8 oz. of water after sauna use. Water bottles are not permitted in the sauna.

What do I wear in the infrared sauna?

We will provide you with a towel to wrap around your body while in the sauna.

Is it private?

Yes. We have two infrared saunas. A double sauna which is in its own room and we also have a single sauna located in the Flotation Pool room for those who are choosing to use the infrared sauna in conjunction with flotation therapy.

If I would like to float, should I use the sauna before or after floating?

We recommend a 30 minute sauna session prior to your float. This detoxifies your body and opens your pores, allowing the magnesium from the Epsom salts to easily absorb into your body.

Do I need to bring anything?

Showers are provided after your infrared sauna session. If you have longer hair, you may want to bring a comb. And if you wear contacts, you may want to bring something to put your contact lenses into while you’re in the sauna. We provide towels, body wash, and shampoo.
